Fire Brigade 2011

Once again, better late than never?

This is a short collection of Fire Brigade pictures from 2 days at Gaston College Fire Grounds in Gastonia, NC.

We spend 2 days a year with my current job doing hands-on fire fighting exercises. All in all it is a lot of fun but serious business.

On to some pictures!

Oh Wow, It's been a while!

I know a few of these posts below this one preach about how I should be posting more and what not. I spend a lot of time at work, working at home and whatever time is left with the kids. That's right, the kids.

We now have a second! Rowan was born in March and things have ceased to slow down at all. At the time that I am posting this he has already sailed past the 5 month point and is laughing and drooling his way towards becoming mobile. It's a pretty amazing process and I feel totally unworthy to be a part of it.

I know that pictures can usually say more than my simple words ever will and this is after all a photo-blog. I'll let you see what we've been in to.

This is Rowan Archer on the night he was born.

At a few days old.

Still too young to cut the grass I guess.

Oh look at me, I'm awake!

Happy baby and happy mommy.

Happy Boy!

That's all for now. I'll try to post more but don't count on it ;)

Recent Landscapes

I've been in the mood to shoot as of late, so the only things really at my disposal due to work schedules are landscapes. Let me know what you think and constructive/destructive criticism is appreciated! Full res pics are located on my Flickr.

This one is my personal favorite of the set. I like the transition from warm yellows and oranges to blues.

Finally a shot of the house late at night. The house is back lit with a streetlight about half way up the driveway and this is about the only angle I can get that does not include the storage buildings. I'll be shooting more from a different location on the property in the near future when the skies are clear.
(I know, I posted this earlier)
Once again, thank you for your support and comments. They are appreciated!
